FAQ: How is Fear and Faith different from Song of Blades and Heroes?
It’s a completely different beast. You get special rules and lists of monsters and monster hunters, but it is more of a scenario driven game just because horror needs scenarios to work. You have fear rules, rules for characters losing their sanity, firearms and grenades, Victorian characters like Dracula and Baron Frankenstein, zombies and zombie-slaying rules etc. All monsters play differently.
FF is many games in one book , in facts it is more involved than SBH, because the rules are less abstract: to slay a vampire you need to drive a stake through his heart, and you have rules for that, not a generic “lethal vs vampires” profile. We felt that horror needed that level of detail, otherwise it would be “horror-tinted SBH”.
